BEST BUY BATTLE 2010

The Best Buy Battle is a local band competition open to all bands performing all styles of music. To enter, a band must simply e-mail their band contact info and web link to BestBuyBattle2010@yahoo.com. All entrants will be notified of showcase selections. There is no cost to enter.

Bands will compete on Tuesdays throughout the summer. Six bands will be in each showcase, with the top two from each show moving on to the semifinal round. Two from each of the three semifinal rounds in August will then become finalists in the big showdown in September. Sets will be 30 minutes with 15 minute changeovers. All bands will play with their own amps amd drums (no backline provided). The Stone Pony will provide a concert sound and light show with professional techs to work for all bands. Bands cannot bring their own sound technician.

The Best Buy Battle will have a three-person judging panel consisting of representatives from Best Buy Eatontown, The Stone Pony and local media. Bands will be scored from 1 to 10 in three categories: talent, stage presence, and audience response. The bands with the highest overall scores will advance. Winners will be announced at each showcase. Band members do not have to be present to qualify. All scoring decisions by the judges will be final.

The Best Buy Battle is an all ages event. Bands will need to sell 25 advance tickets at $10 each to qualify. Bands will make $1 off each ticket sold. Payment for tickets will be settled on the night of each show. There is no pre-payment of advance tickets. An event advance package will be sent to each band selected to showcase. The Stone Pony and Best Buy Eatontown reserve the right to select the bands performing at all events.
