Fungkshui is Asbury Park’s hometown “American Improvisational Rock Band.” Fungkshui has developed an unbreakable chemistry showcasing their seamless grooves and segues. Combined with their mesmerizing hooks and mind shattering peaks, Fungkshui is a band that is ready to guide any lover of live music into their next uncharted musical journey. Fungkshui is excited to be recording their second studio album backed by non-stop touring into the New Year. This is Fungkshui’s first holiday show at the Pony and they band is totally stoked to share the stage with Octave Cat.

Octave Cat is a trio of Eli Winderman (Dopapod – keyboards), Jesse Miller (Lotus – bass/modular synth) and Charlie Patierno (drums). The music ranges from stripped down jazz-grooves to analog synth dance music. Influences such as Herbie Hancock jazz-funk and Four Tet electronica can be heard. Octave Cat pushes the jazz and jam boundaries by incorporating elements of electronica and in doing so they have carved out their own unique musical space.

This is a special co-headline event with both bands playing a full set. Expect some intense musical interludes from both bands with the energy from this powerful pairing at the Pony. Join us for what’s going to be a memorable night at The Stone Pony.
