The Menzingers

At this point, the Menzingers are an absolute institution. The Philadelphia punk legends’ multi-decade reputation as road warriors with an unbeatable catalog is cemented as hard truth—and their seventh album, Some Of It Was True, stands as their most immediate-sounding and energetic record to date. The follow-up to 2019’s sensational Hello Exile accomplishes the daunting task of capturing the Menzingers’ distinctive live energy in the confines of the studio, resulting in a sound that’s both rich, raw, and complementary to the group’s increasingly prismatic songwriting approach. More than 15 years in, the Menzingers are still holding their listeners square in the immediate present.

Across his career, Shakey Graves — the performance moniker of Austin, Texas-born Alejandro Rose-Garcia — has intentionally created thrilling musical adventures tailored to each fan: burning CDs and putting them in personalized decorated bags; building intricate scavenger hunts that send fans in search of unique tapes; and Bandcamp-exclusive releases.

“The fans and musicians that really resonate with me—and the inexplicable ways that I find things that I like—are usually entirely through randomness and chaos and accident,” Rose-Garcia says. “I’ve always been on this quest to make people feel like my own music is a choose your own adventure.”

In 2024 Rose-Garcia celebrated the 10 year anniversary of his And The War Came album with a special 10 Year Anniversary Edition release featuring never before heard demos and B-sides from the recording process and inviting fans to enter the long-since abandoned Music House.

His story continues to unfold, but Shakey Graves Is Still A Gentleman From Texas.

Since 2016’s critically acclaimed debut album Honey Bones, Dope Lemon –– the moniker of acclaimed Australian artist Angus Stone –– has cultivated a reputation for dreamy, laid-back grooves paired with mind melting lyrics that have struck a chord with audiences across the globe.

Lucy Dacus is a musician from Virginia, regarded as “one of the best songwriters of her generation” (Rolling Stone). She has released four full-length albums under her name: 2016’s No Burden, 2018’s Historian, 2021’s Home Video, and 2025’s Forever Is A Feeling. In 2023, Dacus spent a career-defining year with boygenius, her band with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. boygenius’ album, the record, garnered widespread acclaim and saw the trio take home three Grammy Awards.

Her most recent record, Forever Is A Feeling, was lauded by Variety as “the most romantic record you might hear” and reached #1 spots on both the Billboard Rock Album Chart and the Billboard Folk/Americana Album Chart. Dacus also cemented her reputation as a powerful live
act following the release of Forever Is A Feeling, performing around the globe on her most expansive tour to date and selling out legendary venues like Radio City, Red Rocks and the O2 Academy Brixton in London.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band have been delivering their patented good time rock ‘n’ roll for more then 50 years now. Hailing from Rhode Island, the band quickly adopted New Jersey as their other home while becoming one of the hottest east coast circuit bands in the ’70s. JCBBB frequented top Jersey Shore venues including the Fastlane, Big Mans West, The Stone Pony and Tony Mart’s in Somers Point. They burst on to the national scene in the 1980s, with the “Eddie and the Cruisers” movie and soundtrack. The fictional band Eddie and the Cruisers (actually JCBBB) that they portrayed in the film was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the 25 Greatest Movie Rock Bands.
JCBBB are still revered by critics and fans as one of the top live rock shows. Their shows are generally a good time rock ‘n’ roll marathon loaded with Cafferty hits, fan favorites, and plenty of R&B classics. The band is currently touring behind their first new studio album in 37 years, Sound of Waves. The Stone Pony has long been JCBBB’s NJ home. Join us for another “wild summer night” on Sat., Aug. 1.

Donavon Frankenreiter

For more than two decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. Born in Southern California, Donavon spent most of his youth chasing waves, turning pro at the age of 16.

These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that bring Frankenreiter to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics and soulful delivery.

Frankenreiter released his first studio album in nine years on Sept. 20, 2024. The album, entitled Get Outta Ypur Mind, makred ther 20-year anniversary of his self-titled debut album,.

Nearly four decades ago ago, the four original members of Blues Traveler — John Popper, Chandler Kinchla, Brendan Hill, and the late Bobby Sheehan — gathered in their drummer’s parents’ basement in Princeton to jam. From these high school sessions emerged a band that would go on to release a total of 14 studio albums, four of which have gone gold, three platinum, and one six-times platinum – selling more than 10 million combined units worldwide. Over an illustrious career, Blues Traveler has played over 2,000 live shows in front of more than 30 million people, and, in “Run-Around,” had the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history, which earned them a Grammy for “Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.” In 2021 Blues Traveler released the Grammy-nominated Traveler’s Blues on Round Hill Records, a collection of reimagined and recharged classics from the American blues songbook, and the group’s first official blues album. The second release in this series, 2023’s Traveler’s Soul, takes a similar approach, consisting of cover songs from a specific genre, this time classic R&B and soul.

Gin Blossoms is an American alternative rock band formed in 1987 in Tempe, Arizona. The band rose to prominence following the 1992 release of their first major label debut album, New Miserable Experience, and the first single released from that album, “Hey Jealousy” became a Top 25 hit and went gold. New Miserable Experience eventually went quadruple platinum and three other charting singles were released from the album including “Allison Road” and “Until I Fall Away”. The band’s follow-up album, Congratulations I’m Sorry (1996), went platinum including the Grammy nominated “As Long as It Matters” and the top 10 single “Follow You Down”. Gin Blossoms continue to tour every year and in recent years have shared the stage with Blues Traveler, Collective Soul, Barenaked Ladies and Hootie & The Blowfish.

Spin Doctors’ first album in 12 years is at once a bold leap for a legendary band and the sound of a group truly revitalized. Marking their debut on new label home and iconic major Capitol Records, Face Full of Cake finds the alt-rock veterans in top form with an abundance of hooks in their arsenal and the warm, funky sound that longtime fans have come to expect from them. The record truly marks a new era for Spin Doctors, and with a blockbuster summer tour on the horizon and new bassist Jack Daley in tow, it’s impossible not to catch the thrilling feeling that this 35 years strong-and-running crew is, despite their wealth of experience, just getting started.

DOGS IN A PILE
on The Stone Pony Summer Stage

Something organic has been blooming from Asbury Park, New Jersey, and is now making its way around the world. Dogs In A Pile, a band of five twenty somethings with old souls and limitless chops, is waking people up to the timeless and ineffable joys of psychedelic-tinged jazz-funk rock n’ roll.

This is one of the busiest touring bands of today, averaging 130 live shows per year since 2022. The road has become their creative engine, generating a rapidly growing catalog of original tunes. Distroid, the band’s newest album, is a 10-song collection featuring long-awaited studio versions of some of the Dogs’ most beloved repertoire.

Dogs In A Pile is guitarist Jimmy Law, guitarist Brian Murray, keyboardist Jeremy Kaplan, bassist Sam Lucid, and drummer Joe Babick. In addition, the Dogs In A Pile community includes the Dog Pound, the group’s extended family of fans across the country.

Besides being a lyric from the Grateful Dead song, “He’s Gone,” the name “Dogs In A Pile” is an apt description of the five-piece band’s stylistic breadth. The sonic image it conjures is a heap of storyteller Americana, bluegrass, jazz improvisation, eccentric instrumental excursions, pop-rock sophistication, and deep-pocket grooves, ranging from funk to Latin to reggae and beyond.

Distroid features material that has already become staples of the band’s live show. These studio renditions have afforded the group a chance to present the compositions just how they envision them. Distroid offers a cross-section of the Dogs In A Pile essence, tight and tuneful four-minute funk and jazz informed psych-rock songs, and then sprawling 15-minute compositions with intricate unison lines, agile genre-jumping, and dazzling improvisation.

MATISYAHU
Summer Tour 2026

Creativity is like a fire in a fireplace: You have to tend it or it will go out. For nearly two decades, Matisyahu has kept his creative spirit aflame by evolving his sound, melding genres, and testing the limits of the musical traditions that have inspired him. His latest release, Hold The Fire, and its leadoff single “Fireproof” takes inspiration from a fire dream inspired by Matisyahu’s Old Testament religion, which has meant so much to his spiritual and creative life since his recording career began in 2004 and his breakout track “King Without a Crown” blasted into the Billboard charts in 2005. In a roundabout way, those same Old Testament roots springboarded Matisyahu’s music career.

Growing up outside New York City, the young Matthew Miller followed jam bands like Phish and the Grateful Dead. Then, in Bob Marley and reggae, he found that the messaging of Rastafarianism was sourced in part from that same Old Testament. The sound that emerged on his first albums—including his first two studio releases as well as 2005’s Gold-certified Live at Stubb’s—embraced both the spirit of reggae and his spirituality and roots in Judaism. Buoyed by hits like “King Without a Crown,” albums like the Grammy-nominated and Billboard No.1-ranked Youth in 2006, and the Gold-certified 2009 antiwar hit “One Day” (streamed over 150 million times on Spotify alone), he toured extensively through the second half of the aughts with a high-energy stage show that has since grown to include more improvisation. All the while his music expanded into a shapeshifting collision of reggae, hip-hop, alt rock and boldly inventive pop. Today, he continues to be inspired by evolving musical trends, finding linkages and loops between eras and genres. Matisyahu’s spirituality has evolved in parallel with his music, though his Jewish heritage remains a central theme throughout his life and music. The new EP, Hold The Fire (out February 2024), also finds him reflecting on celebrity and artistic success. For Matisyahu, “the unbelievable and miraculous feeling of being connected to our people” is what keeps the creative fire alight.

WAYLON WYATT

Waylon Wyatt is a 19-year-old folk-country artist from Hackett, Arkansas, known for his raw, red-dirt take on Americana. He began writing songs as a kid, often after long days working construction with his father. Waylon recorded and produced his debut EP Til The Sun Goes Down in the rec room of his childhood home. The EP has amassed over 290 million streams and two of its standout tracks “Arkansas Diamond” and “Jailbreak” have earned RIAA Gold certifications. Drawing inspiration from modern trailblazers like Tyler Childers and Zach Bryan, Waylon has cemented his place as a “rising country star to know” (grammy.com) and was named one of VEVO’s 2026 DSCVR Artists to Watch. He has played sold-out stages worldwide, headlining major U.S. venues and delivering standout performances at Stagecoach, Cavendish Beach Music Festival, and FairWell Festival, as well as joining Zach Bryan at London’s Hyde Park. Waylon continues his global momentum with appearances at C2C Festival across Europe, CMC Rocks in Australia, select North American dates supporting Sam Barber, and major festivals including Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. Waylon’s highly anticipated debut album Dustpiles will arrive in July followed up by his headlining world tour across North America, Europe and Australia.

Give It Back To You 10th Anniversary Tour

Craft Recordings celebrates Los Angeles Groove ‘n’ Hook merchants The Record Company and their Grammy-nominated debut with an expanded tenth anniversary edition of Give It Back to You. The deluxe reissue includes the original 10-track album—featuring the chart-topping hit “Off the Ground,” as well as favorites such as “Rita Mae Young” and “On the Move”—plus the band’s previously unreleased first concert, captured in bassist Alex Stiff’s Los Feliz living home in 2013. The intimate set offers a glimpse into the band’s creative process with some of their earliest material, including songs that would later appear on Give It Back to You, as well as a down-and-dirty rendition of the Bob Seger classic, “Old Time Rock & Roll” (the band would go on to open for the legendary rocker in 2019). The album has been released on CD, as a 2-LP gatefold set, and on digital platforms. The digital edition features even more additional content—including bonus mixes, live versions, acoustic takes, covers, and more.

As part of their anniversary celebration, the band will also perform the album in its entirety during a 27-show run.

MORGAN WADE
Love’s Insane Tour

Rather than smoothing over life’s rough edges, Morgan Wade leans directly into them. Never one to mince words or play coy, the celebrated singer-songwriter has built her career around undeniable honesty and vulnerable storytelling, turning life’s hardest moments into songs that feel both deeply personal and universally understood. With a voice that carries equal parts grit, vulnerability, and strength, Wade has  emerged as one of the most compelling storytellers in contemporary country and roots music.

Her breakthrough album Reckless introduced listeners to Wade’s fearless songwriting and raw emotional depth, earning widespread critical acclaim and a fiercely loyal fanbase. ANDY FRASCO and the U.N. & KITCHEN DWELLERS

With curly tufts of a recognizable ‘fro peeking out from his omnipresent knit cap, Andy Frasco is a cross between John Belushi’s “Joliet” Jake Blues and Jimmy Buffett. He’s a band-fronting, songwriting party animal who turns into a swirling rock ‘n’ roll Tasmanian Devil onstage leading his U.N., not unlike Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. From switching instruments mid-song to Frasco stagediving into the crowd or kibitzing with them, an Andy Frasco & The U.N. show is a celebration of inclusivity and tolerance where “You do You” and “let us do us.”

The band has grown from playing bars to touring more than 250 days a year all over the country, with Frasco describing that 15-year journey on Growing Pains, the group’s landmark 10th studio album and first full-length effort since 2023’s L’Optimist, showcasing Andy’s growth as a tunesmith in his own right.

Kitchen Dwellers continue to carve out their own lane in the world of progressive roots music, blending bluegrass, folk, and psychedelic grit into a sound as expansive as their Montana home. The Bozeman-born quartet of Shawn Swain (mandolin), Torrin Daniels (banjo), Joe Funk
(upright bass), and Max Davies (acoustic guitar) has grown from regional upstarts into one of the most dynamic and forward-thinking bands in modern string music. Their catalog pairs instrumental virtuosity with emotional storytelling, an exploratory spirit, and a deep connection to the American West.

Despite a multi-Platinum story and six No. 1 singles, including two fresh smashes in 2025 alone, Curb Records hitmaker Dylan Scott has always kept an underdog mindset. A rowdy roughneck with a romantic side – one whose modern edge was sharpened by timeless, emotional twang – the consummate family man broke out with the epic triple-Platinum devotion of “My Girl” in 2016 and followed up with scrappy, under-the-radar consistency. Chart-topping heart-forward anthems like “Hooked,” “Nobody” and “New Truck” all reached RIAA-certified status, but last year launched the crooner into the stratosphere. Today, Buckley’s legacy continues to grow and resonate internationally, inspiring new listeners while remaining deeply meaningful to those who have carried his music with them for years.

That renewed global attention has been further intensified by the recent release of the acclaimed documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, which has reignited worldwide fascination with his life, his voice, and his artistic depth. The ongoing attention around Buckley once again highlights what fans have always known. His music remains emotionally powerful, fragile, and strikingly relevant.

Belgian band Slow Pilot bring Jeff Buckley’s music to the stage with the deepest respect and musical precision. As far as we know, they are the only band worldwide capable of awakening the true soul, mystery, and magic of his work. The voice of singer Pieter Peirsman comes so close to Buckley’s that it becomes almost unsettling. Penelope Road is here to bring real performance back. It’s a goal as easy to grasp and slyly ambitious as the Atlanta soul-poppers’ music, and that mission is playing out live to the tune of 20,000 tickets sold in the first half of 2025 alone. Call it throwback if you want; they don’t mind. This is a quintet of twenty-somethings who cover America and The Eagles at their increasingly legendary jam-heavy gigs, and who serve up a stew of perfect pop hooks, funky grooves, and sweet harmonies that’d fit into any yacht rock playlist worth its salt. “We want people to feel like they’re in the ’70s,” says Max Moore, guitarist and co-lead singer alongside keyboardist Charles Eastman, “where everything is happening for real and everyone is fully immersed in the music.” They make that music their own with an earthy feel owing to their roots: the grimy old college house they lived in (on Penelope Road) where they forged their vintage sound and went very modernly viral with clips of them jamming in the attic. Their grassroots following exploded into a deal with Warner Records, a self-titled 2024 EP, and sold-out dates headlining and supporting the likes of Goose and Lake Street Dive. Lately, they’ve been seen down at Diamond Street Studios (run by Tedeschi Trucks Band’s Tyler Greenwell) with David Ryan Harris (John Mayer, Alicia Keys), while sharing tunes like “Out Tonight” and “Flowers (Carry Me Home)” that overflow with warm energy inviting ever more loving listeners into their feel-good time capsule. They recently released their third EP “Chance Encounter” in October 2025 and announced an accompanying North America Tour. Penelope Road is comprised of Max Moore (lead vocals/guitar), Charles Eastman (lead vocals/keys), Koan Roy-Meighoo (vocals/guitar), James Kopp (bass), and Anthony Smith (drums).

Originally hailing from Dingley in Melbourne, Australia, Jet quickly conquered the world after forming in 2001, selling more than 6.5 million albums globally and securing almost 10 x Platinum certification in Australia and Platinum in the USA and UK for their 2003 debut album “Get Born”. The album produced a string of classic singles in “Are You Gonna Be My Girl”, “Rollover DJ”, and “Look What You’ve Done” and netted the band 6 x 2004 ARIA awards. 2023 marked 20 years since the release of their debut album ‘Get Born’. To celebrate Jet Embarked on their first band shows in 5 years, playing Get Born in full, revisiting the incredible tracklist that won them fans right across the world.
Reflecting on the album, Nic Cester said, ‘Get Born was a rare and unique moment of total planetary alignment where we somehow managed to capture lighting in a bottle.’
In November 2023 Jet received the honour of being the 2023 ARIA Hall Of Fame Inductees.
Jet carried their momentum into a huge 2025, touring the USA, joining Lenny Kravitz across Australia, and lighting up European summer festivals. 2026 sees the band hitting new heights with a major Australian regional tour, bringing their legendary rock back to fans across the country. Ben Harper is one of the premiere songwriters of his generation. He is also one of the most versatile and brave songwriters, fearlessly working in a cross-section of genres, ranging from pop, reggae and soul, to blues, rock, funk and folk. He has recorded 18 studio albums and amassed a worldwide following having sold over 16 million records worldwide and 3 Grammy Awards.

Ben was born on October 28, 1969. While his music and career embody the sonic bravery, brilliance, lyrical honesty and activism of that pivotal time, Harper adds his unique modern day cultural awareness brining music with social conscience into the now, reflected in the 2023 nomination for the newly minted Grammy Special Merit Award.

Harper’s latest album “Wide Open Light” included the hit “Yard Sale,” a duet with Jack Johnson. It followed up the revealing, fearless and soulful Grammy-nominated “Bloodline Maintenance.”

Acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician Wyatt Flores is in the midst of a breakout year following the release of his full-length debut album, Welcome to the Plains, this past fall (Island Records). With the record, produced by Beau Bedford (Orville Peck, Shane Smith & The Saints), Flores continues to gain widespread attention, having appeared on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” NPR Music’s “Tiny Desk Concert” series and “CBS Saturday Morning,” while the album landed on several “Best of 2024” lists such as NPR, Rolling Stone and more. Additionally, Flores has garnered over 325 million streams to date and had his song “Before I Do” with Jake Kohn featured on the soundtrack for the Twisters movie.

Few bands have ever been as accurately named as the Chicago punk quartet Rise Against. While fleeting styles and fashionable imitations have entered and exited vogue, Rise Against have remained a north star of artful resistance. While continuously updating their formula, they’ve sustained their original spirit of rebellion over a quarter century – amassing a body of work that doubles as a chronicle of our collective unraveling. Melodic hardcore detonations co-exist in perfect tension with dire warnings about looming dystopia. And on their latest release, Ricochet, they’ve made what might be their most visceral, urgent, and high-stakes song cycle.
“We rely on each other, whether we like it or not,” Rise Against lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and lyricist, Tim McIlrath says. “Everything that you do will affect somebody.”
“We are not as isolated as we think,” the musician said. “What we do, good or bad, creates one big ricochet effect.”
Ricochet is a success at simplest level: a collection of indelible rock and roll songs with infectious hooks that sound best played at eardrum-shattering volume. But it also functions as something more profound: a document of artists capturing the chaos of the moment, articulating complex truths with seismic power, and an awareness of the consequences that may befall us. This is an album built to be a part of the solution.

In more than 25 years together, Alkaline Trio has created their own little universe in their songs, one that is a bit dark, a bit brooding, and always just a few short steps away from Armageddon. Their music has been a reliable black mirror of reality. And now, as the band releases their 10th album, the real world looks more like an Alkaline Trio song than ever before.
“A lot of the stuff that was inspiring me on this record was this apocalypse culture that we live in,” says guitarist Matt Skiba. “Without sounding trite, it’s the way that we get our information now through social media. There’s always been good and there’s always been horror, but it feels like the horror hits our doorsteps much quicker these days.”
“It’s tough all around right now,” adds bassist Dan Andriano. “We can’t do drugs anymore because they’ll kill you. We can’t go anywhere safely because people are shooting places up. It’s dark and it’s a bummer.”

Hank Azaria & The EZ Street Band is a labor of love for Azaria, a life-long Springsteen fan. “I’ve never worked harder preparing for any role than I did in perfecting a singing vocal impression of Bruce,” said Azaria.

Azaria is an acclaimed actor and voice artist, perhaps best known for his decades of work on The Simpsons. Now he’s using his voice in a new and different way, and having a blast entertaining people in a live, concert setting. Azaria spent months creating an impression of Bruce’s distinctive speaking cadence and singing ‘voice’ to conceive the tribute show. As Azaria told Rolling Stone, “I think of it as a theatrical performance,” he says. “I’m staying in character as Bruce even though I’m telling stories about myself. It’s a performance piece, but I’m not a Bruce impersonator.”

The tribute performance itself is a joyful, full-tilt rock ’n roll event, and Azaria’s physicality and flair are a true homage to Bruce. Azaria channels many familiar components of Bruce Springsteen’s iconography: intimate, irreverent storytelling, connection to family, preternatural stamina, camaraderie with the band, and a palpable love for performing. Azaria has delivered a show we want to root for — invigorating, upbeat and ambitious.

DANIEL DONATO’S COSMIC COUNTRY

There are a lot of musical influences and sources that Daniel Donato has drawn on during his career and that inform his latest album, Horizon (Retrace Music), his second all-original album. But within those, Donato has carved out a unique and individualized spot for himself, one that speaks to the deep American music heritage that inspires him — and that he’s pushing towards the future with inspired, intentional vigor.

He calls it Cosmic Country, a moniker that’s both self-descriptive and a statement of purpose. It’s an organic rock band aesthetic with plenty of roadhouse twang; a showcase for Donato’s instrumental virtuosity and facility for melodically infectious songcraft. Bridging Nashville and the Great West, Kentucky and mid-60s northern California, tie-dye and plaid, it’s a world of his own, and a wide world of musical adventure at that.

While growing up in Nashville his his father, who turned his young son on to music of all genres, suggested the fledgling and industriously minded (even at just 14) artist start busking in Nashville’s lower Broadway area and outside concerts, for eight hours at a time on the weekends. One night, the two happened by Robert’s Western World where legendary honky-tonk local mainstay the Don Kelly Band were performing. Donato eventually became a member of the band, playing four hours a night at Robert’s (464 shows in total).

Horizons is the follow up to 2023’s Reflector, which received critical acclaim from a wide range of press, including No Depression, Glide Magazine, Magnet Magazine, and more. Donato the subject of features in Rolling Stone, UPROXX, Garden & Gun and Relix. Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country made their network television debut on CBS Saturday Morning and appeared on The Late Show’s #LateShowMeMusic online series.

She Wants Revenge, the dark-alternative duo who first exploded onto the scene with the 2005 hit, “Tear You Apart”, are back with a new song, festival appearances, a new lineup, and a massive global audience hungry for the 3rd wave gothic rock they ushered in 2up and down decades before.
For Justin Warfield and Adam Bravin, She Wants Revenge began as a production duo making songs to DJ at clubs. But when a 3-song demo was passed to a friend, they signed to Geffen records, and soon the songs became the basis of their 2005 self-titled LP. They hit the road supporting Bloc Party, The Kills, and OKGO, and along the way, “Tear You Apart” became a bona fide hit. Soon they were opening for Depeche Mode, The Psychedelic Furs, Placebo, co-headlining with Peter Murphy of Bauhaus, headlining Coachella alongside Daft Punk, and in constant rotation on alternative rock across the country. In under a year the oddball tune they thought to be an evil cousin of the B52’s and Wall of Voodoo saw them blitzing through the late-night talk show circuit, and with singles “Out of Control”, and “These Things” also climbing the charts, they went on to sell over 300,000 albums.
Though they came to prominence in the mid-aughts post-punk revival, Justin and Adam were more indebted to their early influences; Prince, Tangerine Dream, ELO, Giorgio Moroder, and 90s hip-hop. It was their true to the era production style, thoughtful songwriting, and heart-on-the-sleeve lyricism which ran counter to the studied dance punk and emotionally distanced, clever sound of their contemporaries which endeared them to the legions of fans who hungered for their brand of bold, emotive music which was sorely lacking at the time. In doing so, they made fans of both the older “all-black” crowd as well as their younger counterparts, and more pointedly, drew nods and praise from the bands who directly inspired them – cementing SWR’s legacy as torch bearers for the moody and morose who came before.
They release their 2nd LP (2007) This Is Forever, followed by back-to-back EP’s Save Your Soul (2008) and Up and Down (2009), and finally, their swan song, Valleyheart (2011). Musically and creatively, their sound evolved, but as blogs and streaming reshaped the industry, the live shows still grew as more and more devoted fans discovered them. Along the way they collaborated with Timbaland, made videos with Shirley Manson and Joaquin Phoenix, and created a body of work that both broke new ground, while also paying homage to the music, films, and pop-culture of the 70s and 80s which shaped their youth.
Road-worn and weary from a breakneck touring schedule, the band announced in 2012 that they’d be going on an indefinite hiatus. For their fans to whom they’d become like musical family, this was nothing short of heartbreaking, the uncertainty of the word, “hiatus” only making it worse. But behind the scenes, it was clear; this was a break-up, and difficult as it may have been, it was the only way to retain the friendship which was at the heart of all they’d done, so they went their separate ways, played a round of farewell shows, and dove head-first into separate projects and creative pursuits.
But as sometimes happens, the universe had other plans, and in late 2015, following a 4-year hiatus, fan, friend, and vocal supporter Lady Gaga put “Tear You Apart” in the premiere episode of her star turn in American Horror Story, instantly reigniting interest in the band. Suddenly SWR was back in the charts and steadily streaming, and overnight, the broken-up duo was now the “favorite new band” of young audiences longing for more of what they heard on the show.
The band could no longer ignore the signs, and in 2016 they reunited for the 10-year anniversary of their debut album and hit the road playing the album in its entirety for captive audiences worldwide. Old fans were ecstatic, and new fans were thrilled to finally see them live. What started as a tour to honor their anniversary turned into a 4-year sprint across the US, Canada, Europe, and the UK. The band was in top form, the tours were well-attended, and the momentum was building.
In early 2020 after a run of sold-out shows in LA, they sat down to finally record a new album, but when the pandemic hit, like everyone else, their personal and professional worlds were turned upside down.
In 2022 they reconvened, and more driven than ever, set about touring like they had in the early days, covering the entire US, Eastern and Western Europe, the UK, and Australia. What they discovered wasn’t just sold-out shows in nearly every market, but new, young audiences of teenagers and 20-somethings brought up on the 3rd wave goth that the boys inspired, yet never had the chance to see them live. Reinvigorated, inspired, and more certain of their place and purpose than ever, they began work on their long-awaited 4th album, writing and recording between tours.
2024 not only saw the band become the most popular they’d ever been on DSP’s (2.5 million monthly listeners, but also was the year a deep-cut from the 2009 EP Up And Down went viral on TikTok, with hundreds of thousands of creator-generated videos circulating, hoisting the song to the #2 most popular of the band’s catalog.
Now, with a revamped lineup featuring Justin on vocals/guitar, Adam on Bass VI and synths,Thomas Froggatt (formerly guitar) on bass, Tony Bevilacqua (The Distillers) on guitar, and Lia Braswell (Sextile, A Place To Bury Strangers, TR/ST) on drums, the revitalized SWR exudes the same sort of spirit they first hit the road with 20 years ago.
With prominent slots at their beloved hometown Cruel World festival, the UK’s sister fest Forever Now, plans for the Summer and into next year, a new song in the wings, and recording of the long-teased 4th LP still underway, She Wants Revenge is doing what would seem impossible for bands of their era – staying true to the dark dance music and gothic sound they first pioneered decades past, while also remaining fresh, reinventing, and playing music with joy to the millions of kids getting to experience it for the first time.

Bumpin Uglies, proudly hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, have cultivated a dedicated fanbase through relentless touring, powerful songwriting, and an unwavering DIY ethos. Formed in 2008, the band’s core lineup consists of Brandon Hardesty (vocals, lead guitar), Brent Schraffenberger (bass), T.J. Haslett (drums), Ethan Lichtenberger (keys, trombone, trumpet, backing vocals), and Will Lopez (saxophone). Their extensive discography—including well-received albums such as Go Folk Yourself, Mid-Atlantic Dub, and Lyrics Over Everything—showcases their dynamic musical approach that blends reggae rhythms, punk spirit, ska grooves, and heartfelt folk storytelling. Their honest, unfiltered approach to songwriting resonates deeply with fans, fostering an inviting and tightly-knit community known as Uglies Nation.

Fantastic Cat returns for a special Thanksgiving Eve show.

Dubbed “the Harlem Globetrotters of Americana” by Rolling Stone and “The Wu-Tang Clan of folk rock” by The Village Voice, Fantastic Cat is, much like pornography, better seen than described. Featuring four widely lauded singer/songwriters who trade vocals and swap instruments on nearly every tune, the band emerged to broad critical acclaim with the release of their irreverent debut, The Very Best of Fantastic Cat, which earned the group their first national TV appearance, sold out headline dates around the US and Europe, a performance at the Sundance Film Festival, and a song in the Paramount+ series Tulsa King. Two years later, they followed it up with the similarly celebrated Now That’s What I Call Fantastic Cat, which featured an appearance from Counting Crows frontman Adam Duritz, landed the band dates with Dawes and Lucius, and prompted WFUV to declare them “one of the best Americana and rock bands to tumble out of New York over the last few years.”

Now, Fantastic Cat has defied the odds—and their therapists’ strong urging—to return with their third and most-likely-to-prompt-a-lawsuit-from-the-Meat-Loaf-estate album yet, Cat Out Of Hell. Produced by the band and mixed by D. James Goodwin (Goose, Kevin Morby, The Hold Steady), the collection elevates Fantastic Cat’s trademark blend of craftsmanship and chaos to new sonic heights, capturing the freewheeling, lightning in a bottle energy of their must-see live show and channeling it into a ramshackle house party full of existential searchers, desperate romantics, and barstool philosophers.

Individually, each member of Fantastic Cat boasts their own impressive resume including appearances everywhere from the New York Times and the Tiny Desk to Bonnaroo and Cayamo. NPR said Anthony D’Amato “sings and writes in the tradition of Bruce Springsteen or Josh Ritter.” Pitchfork called Brian Dunne’s new album “wise and poetic,” declaring that “every song sounds like his life depends on it.” Paste proclaimed Don DiLego’s latest record a “stunner,” and Rolling Stone hailed Mike Montali’s band, Hollis Brown, as “the soundtrack for a late-night drive through the American heartland.”

Together, they form a four-headed songwriting Hydra (yes, we know the Hydra had nine heads, but this one has four, so just deal with it) that combines the lush harmonies of CSNY, the playful wit of The Traveling Wilburys, and the relentless interpersonal strife of the Eagles.

DAVE HAUSE AND THE MERMAID

“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a rock and roll band.”

Dave Hause had an epiphany rewatching Goodfellas. “There’s that scene in the beginning where Henry Hill says, ‘As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.’” The Philly-bred, California-based singer-songwriter always longed to be in a different kind of mob.

“This record is my realization that, as far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be in a rock and roll band. This record is that rock and roll band distilled into 10 songs.”

This record is …And The Mermaid. And those 10 songs offer a welcome shock to the system, blending Hause’s signature lyrical elan and gift for surging melodies with his keening vocals and some deliciously sharp musical elbows courtesy of the titular group.
